Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But here's the deal: we're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info at Obsidatrix Realm. We're gearheads, not data miners. Everything we collect is to make your experience better, keep your ride running smooth, and yeah, stay on the right side of Canadian privacy laws.
When you bring your exotic beast to our shop or book an appointment online, we need some basic info. That's just how it works. But we're not selling your data to some sketchy marketing firm or spamming you with nonsense. Scout's honor.
Personal Stuff: Your name, email, phone number, address - the basics we need to actually contact you and send invoices. Can't really run a business without knowing who's car we're working on, right?
Vehicle Info: Make, model, VIN, year, any modifications you've already done. We keep detailed records of every tune, every upgrade, every tweak we do to your machine. It's like a medical history but for your car.
Payment Details: Credit card info gets processed through secure payment gateways - we don't actually store your full card numbers on our servers. We're not trying to deal with that liability.
Technical Data: When you visit our site, we collect IP addresses, browser types, device info - standard web analytics stuff. Helps us figure out if the site's loading properly on mobile or whatever.
Communication Records: Emails, texts, phone call notes. If you told us something specific about how you want your exhaust to sound, we're gonna write that down so we don't forget.
Pretty simple - we use your data to actually do the job you're paying us for:
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the edible kind (though those are in the break room). Here's what's tracking you:
Essential Cookies: These keep the site functioning - remembering your booking form data, maintaining your session if you're logged into our client portal. Can't really turn these off if you wanna use the site properly.
Analytics Cookies: Google Analytics and similar tools help us see how people use the site. Which pages get visited most? Where do people drop off? Helps us make the site less annoying.
Marketing Cookies: If you agreed to them, these track whether our ads are actually working. Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking - that kinda stuff.
We take security seriously - maybe not as seriously as we take torque specs, but pretty darn close. Here's what we do:
That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. If there's ever a data breach (fingers crossed there won't be), we'll let you know ASAP and follow all the legal requirements for notification.
We're not in the business of selling your data. But yeah, we do share some info with third parties when it makes sense:
Service Providers: Payment processors, email services, booking software - companies that help us run the business. They're bound by their own privacy policies and contracts with us.
Parts Suppliers: Sometimes we need to share vehicle info with manufacturers or specialty parts suppliers to get the right components. They get what they need to fulfill the order, nothing more.
Insurance Companies: If you're making a claim or we're doing warranty work, we'll share relevant service records with insurers or manufacturers.
Legal Obligations: If the law requires it - court orders, government requests, that kinda thing - we'll comply. Don't really have a choice there.
Business Transfers: If we ever sell the business (not planning on it, but you never know), your data would transfer to the new owners. They'd be bound by this same privacy policy unless they give you notice otherwise.
We DO NOT: Sell your info to marketing lists, share it with random third parties, or do anything sketchy with it. That's not how we roll.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and provincial regulations), you've got some rights when it comes to your personal data:
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at service@obsidatrixrealm.info or give us a call at (604) 555-8742. We'll get back to you within 30 days max.
We don't keep your data forever, but we do need to hang onto it for a while:
Service Records: We keep detailed records of all work done on your vehicle for at least 7 years. This helps with warranty issues, recalls, or if you come back years later asking "what did you guys do to my car again?"
Financial Records: Invoices and payment records stick around for 7 years minimum - that's what the Canada Revenue Agency requires for tax purposes.
Marketing Data: If you unsubscribe from our emails, we'll stop sending stuff immediately but keep your email on a "do not contact" list so we don't accidentally re-add you.
Website Analytics: This stuff gets anonymized after a while and eventually purged. We don't need to know what pages you looked at 5 years ago.
Once we don't have a legit reason to keep your data anymore, we delete it. Permanently. It's not sitting in some backup server gathering dust forever.
Our services are for folks 18 and older (you know, people who can actually own and drive vehicles). We don't knowingly collect personal information from kids under 18.
If you're a parent and you think your kid somehow gave us their info, reach out and we'll delete it ASAP. Though honestly, if your teenager's trying to book a performance tune without your knowledge, you might have bigger concerns than privacy policies.
We might update this policy from time to time - new laws, new services, new technologies, whatever. When we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on our website and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
If the changes are major (like we start using data in completely different ways), we'll let you know directly via email. Otherwise, keep an eye on this page if you're curious about what's changed.
Continuing to use our services after we post changes means you're cool with the updated policy. If you're not cool with it, well, you can always take your business elsewhere - no hard feelings.

If you're not satisfied with how we handle your privacy concerns, you've got the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. We'd prefer to work it out directly, but that option's there if you need it.
We treat your data the way we treat your vehicle - with care, respect, and attention to detail. If you've got any concerns or questions about privacy, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to help.
